mod post about plugs
Recently I've noticed quite a few posts that are plugs. For the time being I've left them be seeing as there hasn't been much traffic to this journal or to the plug journal recently.

So I've decided to bring up a question to the community: Do you prefer to see plug posts go to elfwoodplugs, or are you okay with seeing plugs appear in the main journal?

My thoughts exactly.

I also didn't like the fact that the same person was posting the links in thumbnail form and with a strangely vague description/explanation. It made me wary because it did come off as spammy and suspicious.

We've always allowed users to plug other people's art, as long as the art had something to do with sci-fi or fantasy. If enough people feel strongly about this, we can change it, but it's never been much of an issue.

I've noticed some of the recent plugs aren't really sci-fi or fantasy themed, however.

As there is a separate elfwood plug-journal, I don't think plugs should go in the regular elfwood-community, regardless of activity.

The one advertiser that is been posting these last days knows there is a plug journal, but he or she appears to prefer to post in both.

Unless, as jillbamfette suggests, the elfwood-communities get merged to make handling easier, I (personally) prefer no plugs in this journal. But I'm not going to run screaming to the hills if it does get allowed. I guess I'm more bothered by this specific sort of plug (the same person over and over again, with very little useful information regarding the posted plug) than plugging in general. It reeks too much of spam-advertising than the occasional, legitimate plug.

Merge them. they're all pretty dead anyways, but maybe stick a rule up about how to do a plug. minimum requirements on provided information, and limit to how often you can post them to prevent spamming posts which could have been put into one post.

they should also have the title PLUG at the start.
